Waltz With Bashir, by director Ari Folman. Having just received its world premiere at the
Cannes Film Festival last week, the film has been shortlisted for the prestigious
Palme d'Or award, which is due to be announced at the weekend.
An animated film about an ex-Israeli soldier's reflections on his role in the Lebanon War of the early eighties, 'Waltz With Bashir' looks visually stunning and its trailer can be seen on youtube
here, including some of Max's score.

We Were Promised Jetpacks on KEXP
20/05/08
With singles planned for the fall of this year and a debut album early next,
We Were Promised Jetpacks were discovered via Frightened Rabbit's Myspace page. Hailing from Glasgow and Edinburgh, Stu McHugh from Is This Music, a fan, has this to say about them "Their live sets rip along at breakneck pace but somehow deliver a mini-anthem in every tune, merging Postcard and C86 jangle with full-on alt.rock." Listen to some of their demos on their myspace page

KEXP, so it seems the band are effortlessly making waves not just north of the border but accross the pond too.
