SPIN premiere new Dead Gaze video for “I Found The Ending”
Dead Gaze has released a video for ‘I Found The Ending’, taken from his current eponymous retrospective on FatCat sister label Palmist Records. The video, directed by Carson Culver, brings over lit, summery aesthetics to the heady pop gem, and features a day in the life of Cole. Watch the video over at Spin HERE.
In Cole’s own words, “I really was aiming for a classic depiction of what it’s like to be me in this town with no money. The song is about me letting go of all my possessions and I wanted to make a video that somehow conveyed these ideas. I wanted to psychedelic without being psychedelic.” As Spin add, “Furlow succeeds in making the mundane feel surreal. Small-town, on-the-cheap fun — playing Frisbee and basketball in the park, driving around the neighborhood, scarfing down barbecue ribs with some buddies — has never felt so otherworldly.”
The video was shot in Oxford, MS and features cameos from many of his friends and Peggy the dog.
‘Dead Gaze’ is released on FatCat sister label Palmist as a vinyl LP and digital download and will be available in your local independent record store in the UK on 1st April and North America on the 21st of May. It is however available to purchase now directly from Palmist or the FatCat website, where the digital version comes with two exclusive bonus tracks.
‘I Found The Ending’ is available as a free download for fans that like the Dead Gaze Facebook Page.
