Jóhann Jóhannsson-scored film to screen at Cinecity Brighton
'Miner's Hymns', directed by experimental American filmmaker Bill Morrison, is to screen at the 10th Cinecity Brighton Film Festival. The film "explores the history and legacy of the northeastern England mining community of Durham" - a collage of archive material spanning 100 years.
FatCat artist and acclaimed Icelandic musician and composer, Jóhann Jóhannsson, has scored the film making use of the region's traditional brass band, evoking a bygone era. The film, which is only 52 minutes long, is showing on the 1st of December at 6:00 pm at the University of Brighton Gallery. It is a free event, no booking, first come, first serve.
