His Clancyness - Machines
Taken from the ‘Charade EP’, the video for ‘Machines’ was shot as a wry take on the lyrics video, inspired by the ‘Hitchcock presents’ intros. The video was shot by the band’s own Giulia Mazza with lettering by designer Aleksandra Niepsuj.

The solo project of Cats Purring member R Cole Furrow, Dead Gaze’s recent, self-titled debut for Palmist was both moderately unhinged and totally tune-stuffed; harking back brilliantly to the barely-evolved psych and post punk sounds of the Flying Nun label. On this mix Furrow put together exclusively for The Fly, he shows a crate-digger’s love for all things underground, taking in world music sounds (The Meditations‘ harmony-rich reggae, Super Mazembe‘s Kenyan soukus) eccentric figures both past (The Feelies, Tall Dwarfs’ Chris Knox) and present (Julian Lynch) as well as some incongruously smooth pop from Hall & Oatesand Steve Winwood. Drink it up! It’ll put hairs on your chest.
